LUDO DIDACTIC RESEARCH
NAME: BUFFALO - THE NAME DROPPING GAME
The hidden object of the game, though, is to subvert players’ latent stereotypes. Given only the “physicist” card, you might gravitate toward Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking, or Isaac Newton—all men. But when this card is paired with the “female” descriptor, for example, the game challenges your assumptions about who is or can be a scientist.

The most interesting for me is the the intersectional aspect where you are forced to think outside out the box.
Set is a game that challenges you to make SET's of three. These can be sets of the same colour, same number and same shape. Different colour, different number and different shape. Or you can make a set by having either the colour, shape or number the same.

This game would be a great opportunity to turn into a game that has a cultural value and triggers the audience to think of subjects such as race, gender and religion and the intersectionality in these.
NAME: SET - THE FAMILY GAME OF VISUAL PERCEPTION
NAME: KWARTET - GAME BY MARIJKE APPELMAN & KOEN TASELAAR
KWARTET is a game based on the original Dutch game called kwartet. Where you have to collect 4 different pictures on the same subject. For this version of the game Marijke and Koen have used different artworks from different artists that use the same method of working or that have any other similarities to contest the notion of artist authenticity.

This project of contesting a subject through this easily playable game is very interesting and the game design that came with it was interesting to say the least.
NAME: I AM ___, BUT I AM NOT ___
This is not necessarily a game but an exercise. In this exercise a person from the audience is asked to answer the question with a racial, sexual, religious or other identifier and a false stereotype connected to this. For example I am American, but i am not really into fastfood.

In this game the interesting part for my project is the part of questioning stereotypes which are caused by heuristics.
A board game developed to have the audience train themselves in building a movement and beating "the system"

What is interesting for me is obviously the element of training a person how to build a movement through a board game.
NAME: RISE UP
Something different from the other games. This game is about working together on another level. You play it as a team and either win or lose. There is no communication during the game which makes it even more difficult.

I think this non-communicational way of game -play makes a game interesting in such a different way.
NAME: THE MIND
NAME: MINDSET - A BOARD GAME
This game made by the happiness initiative is a gamification of Carol Dweck's theory on Growth and Fixed mindsets. Through game-play you learn everything about this theory.

This way of using ludo didactics to teach the audience a piece of theory is very important.

NAME: THE QUIET YEAR
The Quiet Year is a map game. You define the struggles of a community living after the collapse of civilization, and attempt to build something good within their quiet year. Every decision and every action is set against a backdrop of dwindling time and rising concern.

The game is played using a deck of cards – each of the 52 cards corresponds to a week during the quiet year. Each card triggers certain events – bringing bad news, good omens, project delays and sudden changes in luck. At the end of the quiet year, the Frost Shepherds will come, ending the game.

The Quiet Year occupies an interesting space – part roleplaying game, part cartographic poetry.
Dog eat dog is a game about colonialism, privilege and meaningful play. This game is focused on colonialism and assimilation in the Pacific islands. Where there is one player playing the Occupation and the others play as individual Natives. All trying to negotiate the new boundaries and power structures on the island.

The logic step for me was to seek out more of the groups that are involved in educational game play. I found this vivid and very much alive facebook group that share many different educational games and ways of game-based learning. When I put out a post seeking out help and references. I got many responses.
